1. There were several serious problems with Fyre Festival. Discuss five of them, and explain

a. what the problems were, What caused the problem, who were the core people involved, what did the situation involve.
b. how could each problem have been addressed so as not to be problems,
c. At what point in the event planning process they should have been addressed.
d. what part did each problem play in the overall view that Fyre Festival was a “disaster.
E. Ultimately, whose fault was the problem.

Your paper should be written using a font size of 12, and include your name and our course information. Your paper should not exceed ten TYPED double-spaced pages, and should answer the question above. My STRONG suggestion is that you have one section of your paper for each problem, and address the problem fully by providing all the information requested.

You may include/attach photographs as an aid in answering your questions, but photographs are in addition to the maximum ten pages of typed material. Please cite any relevant articles, including web-based material you use as the basis for your comments.

Your professor LIKES creativity, and shiny things (PICTURES). Please include those if you want to impress, but DO NOT skimp on addressing the problems well!

I am VERY picky about spelling and grammar, especially when you have spell and grammar check. Use them excessively, please.

As you watch the Fyre Festival documentary, I suggest you pay attention to the following:
1. What impact did Ja Rule have on the Fyre Festival?
2. Pay attention to Grant, and to Andy Richter – the two people who actually did “Planning”. What is Billy’s role?
3. Fyre Festival was an idea that became a commercial, which was supposed to push a huge impactful marketing strategy. At what point did Fyre Festival become an event that was actually being PLANNED… and who did the actual planning?
4. Look at the culture of addressing issues. What happens to someone if they bring up a problem? What is Billy’s philosophy towards “problems”.
5. Listen for when you hear any conversations about the budget for the event – is there one? How do the planners know how much money they a) have, and b) need?
6. Look at the difference between what was promised, and what was (not) delivered.
7. Look at the number of times the event could have been cancelled/should have been cancelled. What stopped people from cancelling it?
8. Consider the relationship between those dreaming up/planning the event, vs. the marketing company, vs. the ap company, vs. Ja Rule. Did those four groups talk with one another? How did that impact Fyre Festival.
9. Fyre Festival contains an extreme example of being willing to “take one for the team.” What was your impression of both that professional, and the circumstance? What would you do in a similar situation?
10. Would you have cancelled Fyre Festival, and if so – at what point? If not, how would you have managed it differently?
