Write two paragraphs in French, one for Topic A and one for Topic B. Make sure to stick to what we have learned in Chapitre 1 and to follow the vocabulary and grammar guidelines listed below. Each paragraph is worth 10 points and should be between 100 – 150 words in length. Use your sense of imagination, creativity and originality. N.B.: indicate your total word count.

A. Autoportrait.

Imagine that you are going to be a student at the Université de Nice in the south of France. Write a short paragraph introducing yourself to your new roommate. Tell him/her your name, where you are from, what you are studying, what you like and don’t like, etc. Mention at least five different facts about yourself. Ask your new roommate two questions about himself/herself and imagine/provide appropriate answers.

B. Le campus.

Write a paragraph describing your university campus and the neighborhood near the campus.

Make sure to include the following information:

• your general opinion of campus

• three things the campus neighborhood has and two things it doesn’t have

• something you really like about the campus neighborhood and your reasons why

• something you don’t like about the campus neighborhood and your reasons why
