Effective Leadership Skills:

150 word response 1 reference

Marshall

Effective Leadership Skills Necessary for Leadership Issues instead of Management Issuese art of effecting radical, transformative change through forethought, vision, and strategy. Key leadership characteristics include inspiring followers and making quick, flexible choices. On the other hand, management entails carrying out regular, scheduled operations with the assistance of subordinates. The manager’s exclusive responsibility is to carry out the four core managerial tasks of planning, controlling, leading, and organizing (Duggal, 2022). One of the essential qualities in a leader that will enable them to spend more time on leadership issues and less time on management issues is the capacity to convey ideas directly and diplomatically. There is more to effective communication than just hearing others out and reacting thoughtfully. Being explicit about what you want and need, clarifying misunderstandings, and providing helpful information are all components of effective communication. The most effective leaders are also excellent communicators, using their words to motivate and enliven their teams (Nawaz & Khan, 2016). Another skill is inspiring and motivating their teams by their motivation, inspiration, and motivation. Take the time to get to know the people under your leadership so you can better understand their skill sets, challenges, and goals. Not only will they appreciate the effort, but you’ll also gain insight into how to inspire them to do better. Keep reminding them how their hard work is helping, and push them to reach their full potential by setting ambitious but achievable goals and providing them with challenging yet achievable obstacles. Leaders are concerned with boosting morale and inspiring their followers. Leaders seek to instill a sense of urgency in their followers to take risks in pursuing shared objectives and challenge the status quo (Wajdi, 2017).

Management as an Art and Science

Management is interdisciplinary, encompassing elements of both science and art. It is classified as a science because of its systematic approach to knowledge acquisition and the presence of objective truths within its body of knowledge. Management is often considered an art form since every manager relies on their unique experiences and expertise in their work. Science provides knowledge, whereas art is concerned with applying skills and knowledge (O’Hare, 2010). Managers need management so that they may use their intuitions, judgments, and “gut feelings” in addition to the theories and evidence they have studied in the past when making decisions. Managers need “conceptual skills,” or the ability to think critically and develop novel solutions to their organizations’ problems. The process of translating abstract notions and ideas into a workable strategy for implementation is commonly referred to as planning. Therefore, the ability to conceptualize the plan’s potential benefits and drawbacks is also necessary. Second, managers must have humanity skills, including communication and interpersonal relational abilities. Humanity’s abilities include good communication with others, such as when managers collaborate with and engage with their staff. Managers who can persuade and connect with their teams personally are more likely to have their efforts rewarded with greater enthusiasm and success (Setiawan, n.d).

Covey’s (1991) Approach to Resolving Managerial Issues

Managerial issues entail matters that require decision, investigation, or action, such as disciplinary procedures, complaints, absence of the intern, periods of sick or annual leave, awards of benefits and payment, performance issues, and company induction procedures. According to Covey (1991), one of the approaches to resolving managerial issues is promoting a habit of mutual gain. Win/Win is a mental and emotional state that seeks mutual gain in all human interactions. Win/win solutions or agreements are mutually beneficial and pleasant. With a win-win solution, all stakeholders are satisfied with the decision and devoted to the action plan. Win-win agreements clearly define desired outcomes, instructions for achieving those outcomes, resources available, accountability metrics, and punishments (Covey, 1991). The same holds for efficient risk management. The group’s leaders want their employees to have a teachable attitude that places a premium on helping each other out rather than putting the spotlight on who’s at fault. Possibilities and dangers can each be assigned owners in a risk register. At this point, management may decide to fund certain initiatives or mitigating measures. The risk management procedure emphasizes loops of feedback, standards, responsibility, and repercussions. Win-win techniques foster a positive working relationship amongst all parties involved in a negotiation. In a win-win negotiation, all sides believe they can work toward a mutual gain. This common objective permits each participant in a win-win negotiation to collaborate, and they may explore future collaboration with the other party (Indeed Editorial Team, 2021)

Green Supply Chain Management Effects Outline

Abstract

Introduction

In the business world, the increase in biodiversity and global warming has resulted in the concern for a green supply chain for sustainability (Tseng et al., 2019). The incorporation of green supply management in the supply chain improves environmental performance. Most of the environmental degradation and over-exploitation of natural resources happens in the supply chain requiring organizations to focus their attention on ways of combating the degradation. Including the green concept involves integrating ecological and environmental concerns in the supply chain. Green supply chain management impacts corporate sustainability in social, economic and ecological dimensions. Therefore, the paper focuses on the green supply chain effects on today’s business environment performance.

Literature Review

The green supply chain involves green purchasing, green distribution, green packaging, green marketing, internal environmental management, investment recovery and environmental education (Cankaya et al., 2019). The practices of a green supply chain impact the rate of waste disposal, greenhouse emission and resource consumption. Green supply management is essential for sustainability and reduces the negative environmental impact, ensures continuity of supply, protects reputation damage, attracts new partners and wins more businesses (Nutburn, 2019).

Methodology

Collection of primary data should be through personal interaction with various heads of businesses and distributing web links. Formulation of a hypothesis would help in obtaining the findings of the research. Use of a structural equation modelling is used to test the formulated hypothesis.

Results and Findings

Analyzation of the findings is vital in determining which green supply chain practices affects the business environment positively or negatively. The results are obtained after measuring the performance indicators in the business environment such as profit, resource consumption, waste disposal and cost.

Implications and Conclusions

The results are important in identifying the practices of green supply chain that ensures the business world thrives. It enables conclusion of which practices that could bring sustainability of the business world.

Psychopathology and Diagnostic Reasoning:

NRNP 6635: Psychopathology and Diagnostic Reasoning

Week 4:Assessing and Diagnosing Patients With Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, and OCD

Your own experiences might tell you that expectations from family, friends, and work—as well as your own expectations regarding achievement, success, and happiness—can create stress. Stressors are a normal part of life, and stress traditionally has been viewed as an adaptive function with a set of physiological responses to a stressor. In a situation where stress is perceived, the organism is physiologically prepared to attack or flee from the threat. Those with effective fight or flight responses tended to survive long enough to reproduce, so we are descended from those who are genetically hardwired for self-protection. When you experience stress, your biology, emotions, social support, motivation, environment, attitude, immune function, and wellness all feel the ripple effect.

This stress response is an adaptive response the human body has to threats; however, stress can also be difficult to handle and—depending upon the nature and intensity of the stress—can result in anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, or trauma- and stressor-related disorders. This week, you will focus on these disorders and explore strategies to accurately assess and diagnose them.

“Fear,” according to the  DSM-5-TR, “is the emotional response to real or perceived imminent threat, whereas  anxiety is anticipation of future threat” (APA, 2022). All anxiety disorders contain some degree of fear or anxiety symptoms (often in combination with avoidant behaviors), although their causes and severity differ. Trauma-related disorders may also, but not necessarily, contain fear and anxiety symptoms, but their primary distinguishing criterion is exposure to a traumatic event. Trauma can occur at any point in life. It might not surprise you to discover that traumatic events are likely to have a greater effect on children than on adults. Early-life traumatic experiences, such as childhood sexual abuse, may influence the physiology of the developing brain. Later in life, there is a chronic hyperarousal of the stress response, making the individual vulnerable to further stress and stress-related disease.

For this Assignment, you practice assessing and diagnosing patients with anxiety disorders, PTSD, and OCD. Review the  DSM-5-TR criteria for the disorders within these classifications before you get started, as you will be asked to justify your differential diagnosis with  DSM-5-TR criteria.

To Prepare:(Psychopathology and Diagnostic Reasoning)

· Review this week’s Learning Resources and consider the insights they provide about assessing and diagnosing anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma- and stressor-related disorders.

· Download the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation ( CPE) Template, which you will use to complete this Assignment. Also review the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation Exemplar to see an example of a completed evaluation document.

· By Day 1 of this week, select a specific video case study to use for this Assignment from the Video Case Selections choices in the Learning Resources. View your assigned video case and review the additional data for the case in the “Case History Reports” document, keeping the requirements of the evaluation template in mind.

· Consider what history would be necessary to collect from this patient.

· Consider what interview questions you would need to ask this patient.

· Identify at least three possible differential diagnoses for the patient.

For the assignment

Complete and submit your Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation, including your differential diagnosis and critical-thinking process to formulate primary diagnosis.

Incorporate the following into your responses in the template:

· Subjective: What details did the patient provide regarding their chief complaint and symptomology to derive your differential diagnosis? What is the duration and severity of their symptoms? How are their symptoms impacting their functioning in life?

· Objective: What observations did you make during the psychiatric assessment?

· Assessment: Discuss the patient’s mental status examination results. What were your differential diagnoses? Provide a minimum of three possible diagnoses with supporting evidence, listed in order from highest priority to lowest priority. Compare the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for each differential diagnosis and explain what DSM-5-TR criteria rules out the differential diagnosis to find an accurate diagnosis. Explain the critical-thinking process that led you to the primary diagnosis you selected. Include pertinent positives and pertinent negatives for the specific patient case.

· Reflection notes: What would you do differently with this client if you could conduct the session over? Also include in your reflection a discussion related to legal/ethical considerations (demonstrate critical thinking beyond confidentiality and consent for treatment!), health promotion and disease prevention taking into consideration patient factors (such as age, ethnic group, etc.), PMH, and other risk factors (e.g., socioeconomic, cultural background, etc.).

· Include an introduction, purpose statement, reflection, and conclusion

· Use at least 3 evidence-based resources

00:00:15PATIENT I went to the emergency department last week, because I was feeling like I was dying from a heart attack, and they did one of those, what do you call it? Ah, an EKG. And it was normal. But I was sweating and I was having trouble like catching my own breath. And my heart was pounding really, really hard. And I, and I just felt like my, my heart was just going to explode out of my chest. It almost felt like, um, like when your… I don’t know, when you’re in the woods. Uh, alone and, and you… you, feel like someone is, is following or, or chasing you. Or something like that. I, I just, I just my heart felt like it was about to leap out of my chest. I… And uh… I don’t know, probably twelve, fifteen minutes went by and, and the feeling just went away. It just passed. But then… the next day, it was the very same thing and I, for no reason at all. Just all of a sudden, I was making coffee and then WAM, that, that, that tightness in my chest came back and I was sweating and my heart was pounding, same exact feeling. Twelve, fifteen minutes, and then it just went it away. It was like… almost it was almost like my mother, I remember she would get the same thing, probably three to four times a week. It’s just sheer panic for no particular reason at all.

Special Education

Special Education

Special Education: Before a student is referred for special education, a general education teacher must complete certain steps to ensure only students who truly need special education services receive them. There are observations, assessments, and interventions to facilitate and gather data to measure student growth or lack of growth. And, typically, the general education teacher will complete a referral form to “bring the student” to the intervention assistance team and discuss his or her concerns. The first step is to refer the student for interventions such as RtI (Response to Intervention) before a referral for special education testing occurs.

This 3-part assignment provides you the opportunity to follow the typical path that an elementary-age student may take if he or she needs to be evaluated for special education services.

Complete Parts 1–3 below.

Part 1: Student Profile

Select the following characteristics for your fictional student:

  • Male or female
  • Elementary grade level (between grade 2 and 6)
  • Students who go through the RtI process are those who have not been diagnosed with a disability prior to starting school. Many students who have a specific learning disability often go through the RtI process for reading interventions.

Write a 350- to 525-word fictional student profile that includes the following:

  • General student information (gender, grade, exceptionalities, etc.) and literacy skills such as reading (should be 2 years below grade level)
  • Cognitive, learning, and social characteristics and language development history (Consider your fictional student’s low literacy skills.)

Part 2: RTI Outline

Create a 350- to 525-word outline that highlights the RTI process that may be used for your fictional student.

Provide the following:

  • Explanation of RTI
  • 2 assessment and 2 intervention examples for each RTI level (for a total of 12), specific to your fictional student’s literacy skill deficits:
  • Tier 1
  • Tier 2
  • Tier 3

Include the following information for each example:

  • Description
  • Justification for use

Part 3: Referral and Evaluation Summary

Your fictional student has not made the appropriate progress he or she should be making, and you feel that there may be a need for an evaluation for special education services. At this point, there is a process with specific procedures that your school must follow, as stated by special education law that will guide the next steps.

Write a summary that outlines the referral and evaluation process for special education services.

Include the following information:

  • Explanation of:
  • Referral request, next steps, and required time frame
  • The evaluation process, including possible assessments and/or evaluations that may be used
  • Description of:
  • School professionals (and their role) involved in the referral and evaluation process

Compile the following for submission:

  • Student Profile
  • RTI Outline
  • Referral and Evaluation Plan Summary

Health Care Information:

Write an executive summary (1-2 pages) for senior leaders that highlights key information about the proposed health care information review of the quality of care given to a specific population. Detail the proposed implementation steps and associated time frames in a Gantt chart (1-page chart).

Introduction

As the office manager of your physician group, you realize that obtaining funding for your proposal will require the approval of the physician group’s senior leaders. You and the others helping you implement the proposal will need the details your proposal contains. From experience, however, you have learned the senior leaders will not take the time to review all the details. For them to approve your proposal, they simply want the highlights of what you plan to do, a brief explanation of how it will identify the quality of patient care, and the amount of time it will take to complete the study. In this final assessment, you will prepare a summary report for the senior leaders of your physician group. Your summary report is an abbreviated version of your proposal.

Please carefully review this assessment’s scoring guide to better understand the performance levels relating to each criterion on which you will be evaluated.

Instructions

Download and use the  Summary Report Template [DOCX] . You will complete this assessment by replacing all italicized instructional text with your own words.

Summary Report

Overview

· State your proposal’s big idea in the Overview.

· Explain the information you plan to collect and the reasons why it is important to collect it.

· Describe how this information could validate the quality of care delivered by your facility.

Note: Your Overview needs to be shorter than the Introduction from your proposal. Remember the entire narrative portion of your Summary Report needs to be less than two pages. You will have an additional page for your Gantt chart.

Key Study Components

· Include a subheading labeled, Data Collection Plan.

. Distill down into 1–2 sentences the most important information about your implementation plan and the information you plan to collect at your facility.

· Include a subheading labeled, Data Security Plan.

. Highlight in 1–2 sentences the most important information about your plan to ensure data security that your senior leaders need to know.

· Include a subheading labeled, Benchmarking Plan.

. Provide a 1–2-sentence overview about the best practices (benchmarks that will be used) and procedures your study will use to ensure the data you collect meets standards for interoperability with an HIE.

· Include a subheading labeled, Quality and Change Management Strategies.

. Summarize in 1–2 sentences how your plan incorporates quality and change management strategies.

Conclusion

· State how your proposed study will improve the quality of patient care delivered by your physician group. Your Conclusion needs to be one paragraph of no more than five or six sentences.

Reference

· List one reference in APA format to benefit your senior leaders.

Gantt Chart

Include with your Summary Report a one-page Gantt chart that specifies the major steps in your implementation plan and the time frame associated with each step. Microsoft Excel is one tool you can use to create your chart. Your suggested readings supply additional information about how to create a Gantt chart in Excel. Please feel free to use other tools. The only requirement is that your Gantt chart specify the major steps in your implementation plan and the time frame associated with each step.

Additional Requirements

· Written communications: Your executive summary must be concise, clear, and well organized, with correct spelling, grammar, and syntax, to support orderly exposition of content. Use the Summary Report Template.

· Assessment Title: You may devise your own title of 5–15 words for the executive summary or use Summary Report – Health Care Information Review. Enter the other required information specified on the template.

· References: Specify one peer-reviewed reference that will benefit your senior leaders in the appropriate space on your template. Your reference should conform to APA formatting.

· Length: 1–2 typed, single-spaced pages. The narrative portion of your summary report should be preferably one page; it should not exceed two pages. You will have an additional page containing your Gantt chart.
