Here is an opportunity to turn your attention back to the final project and continue your work on network recommendations for the new office of Newton Ad Agency.
In this milestone, compose sections III and IV of the final project. Section III focuses on criteria and selection of an internet service provider. Section IV provides details on several networking considerations such as hardware and software selection, printer configuration, and bandwidth.
Once again, review the scenario involving Newton Ad Agency. Remember, too, that you selected a specific location for the new office and the computer network in Milestone One. For Milestone Two, carefully research the internet service providers available for your chosen location. This will involve internet research.
To complete this assignment, review the Milestone Two Guidelines and Rubric document.

and their daily monitoring logs. This allows you to track their feeding habits,
habitat conditions, and general welfare.
Hello, Veterinarian!
As veterinarian, you have access to all of the animals’ health
records. This allows you to view each animal’s medical history and current
treatments/illnesses (if any), and to maintain a vaccination log.

Option 1: Authentication SystemFor security-minded professionals, it is important that only the appropriate people gain access to data in a computer system. This is called authentication. Onceusers gain entry, it is also important that they only see data related to their role in a computer system. This is called authorization. For the zoo, you will developan authentication system that manages both authentication and authorization. You have been given a credentials file that contains credential information forauthorized users. You have also been given three files, one for each role: zookeeper, veterinarian, and admin. Each role file describes the data the particular roleshould be authorized to access. Create an authentication system that does all of the following: Asks the user for a username Asks the user for a password Converts the password using a message digest five (MD5) hasho It is not required that you write the MD5 from scratch. Use the code located in this document and follow the comments in it to perform thisoperation. Checks the credentials against the valid credentials provided in the credentials fileo Use the hashed passwords in the second column; the third column contains the actual passwords for testing and the fourth row contains therole of each user. Limits failed attempts to three before notifying the user and exiting the program Gives authenticated users access to the correct role file after successful authenticationo The system information stored in the role file should be displayed. For example, if a zookeeper’s credentials is successfully authenticated, thenthe contents from the zookeeper file will be displayed. If an admin’s credentials is successfully authenticated, then the contents from the adminfile will be displayed. Allows a user to log out Stays on the credential screen until either a successful attempt has been made, three unsuccessful attempts have been made, or a user chooses to exitYou are allowed to add extra roles if you would like to see another type of user added to the system, but you may not remove any of the existing roles.

IT 647 Navigation Schema Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: In the Module Two Website Benchmarking discussion activity, you conducted website benchmarking in a general way. In this activity, you will do
some additional benchmarking, focusing specifically on navigation.
Navigation is undoubtedly one of the most important aspects of any website. If your website’s navigation is cumbersome, your users will go elsewhere. Before
you begin, review the resources W3Schools CSS Navigation Bar, Web Page Mistakes, and Kissmetrics Blog.
Prompt: In this assignment, you will analyze the vertical, horizontal, and mixed navigation of several websites.
For horizontal navigation, review bestbuy.com, apple.com, or sony.com.
For vertical navigation, review homedepot.com or toyrus.com.
For mixed navigation, review lowes.com, gap.com, or ebay.com.
Explore at least one website in each of the navigational styles listed above. Pay attention to hyperlinks, page-to-page navigation, flow, and nomenclature.
Analyze the navigation placement in overall layout, the navigation structure, the navigation elements, and the navigation usability.
Use the following questions to guide your analysis:
Are website categories clearly defined in the navigation bar?
Is the navigation bar easy to use? Is the navigation bar consistent with the overall layout and look and feel of the website design?
Are the category titles aligned with the content when you click through from the navigation bar?
Is the navigation consistent throughout the site as you click through various pages?
For your final project, you will use a navigation template provided to you from HTML5 UP (and housed in Codio), but in this assignment, assume you were to
build navigation of your website from scratch. What navigation elements would you need? As part of your paper, provide a list of your basic navigation
elements.
Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:
Analysis of navigation elements:
o Horizontal: Analyze the navigation schema in a website that uses horizontal navigation.
o Vertical: Analyze the navigation schema in a website that uses vertical navigation.
o Mixed: Analyze the navigation schema in a website that uses both horizontal and vertical navigation.
Create a list of navigation elements for the website you will be constructing for your final project.

Website benchmarking, to put it simply, is an exploration of what is out there, what is working well, and what is not. Begin by reading the article Understanding Website Benchmarking: When Is It Useful, When Is It Not?, and then begin your exploration. You might look at some websites that have the same purpose and goal as your own, but as the article mentions, you do not necessarily want to explore only competitors’ websites. You can also, for example, benchmark websites that have a different purpose but the same audience demographic that you are trying to reach.
Review at least two websites. Then, post a link to both websites and write your initial discussion post, addressing the following for each website:
Explain why you chose the websites you reviewed for the purposes of benchmarking.
How do your chosen websites attract users? In other words, how are they marketing themselves?
What sorts of emotions or moods do your chosen websites evoke? Seriousness? Fun? Chaos? Excitement? Serenity? Convenience?
How have the web designers created a mood or tone? Consider color, layout, typeface, spacing, navigation, simplicity, and complexity.
What on-page elements are lacking that you believe would help drive optimal usability?
Would the layout of your websites be successful on other devices, such as tablets or smart phones with limited resolution?
What ideas do those websites inspire? If you were building a dream site from scratch without client parameters, what would you include in your website?
How can you incorporate some of those ideas in your final project within the parameters you have been given?
In response to your peers’ posts, briefly visit the websites they chose for benchmarking. Based on your first impression of each website, do you interpret them in the same way your peers have? Explain. Do the websites give you ideas for your own website construction?
