Elements of Medical Terms
Learning medical terminology is more than memorization. The process of learning complex medical terms consists of focusing on the word elements such as prefixes, suffixes, and word roots. Understanding these elements will assist you in learning hundreds of medical terms.
After reading Chapter 1, you are to post a response for this discussion that entails differentiating the word elements and identifying the term’s origin. There are two parts to this discussion.
Part 1: Choose 2 of the terms in column A and differentiate the prefix, suffix, combining form, and word root.
Part 2: In addition, use one medical term of your choice to create an educational piece as if you were talking to a patient to describe what the word means in layman’s terms.
