IT 145 Milestone One Guidelines and Rubric Overview: The purpose of this milestone is to prepare for your final project submission in Module Seven. For this milestone, you will be drafting the pseudocode that you will submit as part of your final project. Remember to revisit the pseudocode you create in this module before you submit your program and final project. Also take note that if your program differs from your pseudocode plan, you will need to document and explain this when you complete your final project. Prompt: Prior to participating in this discussion, complete the ZyBooks activities for this module. These activities will allow you to pick up a few of the skills needed for this milestone. For this assignment, you will be selecting one of two options presented to you in the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document. This will be the basis of the program you will create for your final project. Create the pseudocode for that program with the skills you have gained throughout the course so far. Note: You will be submitting the pseudocode you develop in this module to the discussion forum in Module Six for a peer review by your coding community (your classmates). Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:  Process Documentation: Create process documentation to accompany your program that addresses all of the following elements: o Problem Statement/Scenario: Identify the program you plan to develop from one of the two options detailed in your Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document, and analyze the scenario to determine necessary consideration for building your program. o Pseudocode: Break down the problem statement into programming terms through creation of pseudocode. (The pseudocode should demonstrate your breakdown of the program from the problem statement into programming terms.) Guidelines for Submission: Submit your pseudocode to your instructor for grading as a Word document. Use the Guide to Pseudocode document. Instructor Feedback: This activity uses an integrated rubric in Blackboard. Students can view instructor feedback in the Grade Center. For more information, review these instructions. Critical Elements Proficient (100%) Needs Improvement (55%) Not Evident (0%) Value Process Documentation: Problem Statement/Scenario Identifies the program to be developed and analyzes the scenario to determine necessary consideration for building the program Identifies the program to be developed and analyzes the scenario to determine necessary consideration for building the program, but analysis is cursory or contains inaccuracies Does not identify the program to be developed or analyze the scenario to determine necessary consideration for building the program 15 Process Documentation: Pseudocode Breaks down the problem statement into programming terms through the creation of pseudocode that accurately and efficiently solves the problem statement Breaks down the problem statement into programming terms through the creation of pseudocode, but pseudocode is inaccurate or inefficient in solving the problem statement Does not break down the problem statement into programming terms through creation of pseudocode 75 Articulation of Pseudocode Submission follows pseudocode formatting best practices in that the common keywords are capitalized, natural language is used, and the pseudocode is not too technical Submission attempts to follow pseudocode formatting best practices (i.e., common keywords are capitalized, natural language is used, and the pseudocode is not too technical) Submission does not follow pseudocode formatting best practices 10 Total 100%
