Answer this question:

What are the personal and/or communal ethical factors that may be involved in determining the moral position of either side in that debate?

• Next, articulate and then evaluate the ethical positions  using Kantian ethics (that is, the categorical imperative) relative to the long standing debate (that is your topic chosen in the week three assignment).

• Finally, create a complete annotated bibliography for 5 academic scholarly sources. You will annotate each source. The sources should be relevant to your topic chosen in the week three assignment.

Include the following:

• Publication details

• Annotation (a detailed reading of the source)

Each annotation section should include the following:

• Summarize key points and identify key terms (using quotation marks, and citing a page in parentheses).

• Describe the controversies or “problems” raised by the articles.

• State whether you agree or disagree and give reasons.

• Locate one or two quotations to be used in the final research project.

• Evaluate the ways in which this article is important and has helped you focus your understanding.

Use the following as a model:

Assignment Brief

Annotation Example
In this article, Mezirow (2003) makes a distinction between “instrumental” and “communicative” learning. “Instrumental learning” refers to those processes which measure and gauge learning, such as tests, grades, comments, quizzes, attendance records and the like. “Communicative learning,” on the other hand, refers to understanding created over time between individuals in what Mezirow calls “critical-dialectical-discourse,” (p. 59) which is a fancy way of saying, important conversation between 2 or more speakers. Another key idea Mezirow discusses is “transformative learning,” (p. 61) which changes the mind, the heart, the values and beliefs of people so that they may act better in the world. Mezirow argues that “hungry, desperate, homeless, sick, destitute, and intimidated people obviously cannot participate fully and freely in discourse” (p. 59). On the one hand, he is right: there are some people who cannot fully engage because their crisis is so long and deep, they are prevented. But, I don’t think Mezirow should make the blanket assumption that everyone in unfortunate circumstances is incapable of entering the discourse meaningfully. One thing is certain: if we gave as much attention to the non-instrumental forms of intelligence–like goodness, compassion, forgiveness, wonder, self-motivation, creativity, humor, love, and other non-measured forms of intelligence in our school curriculums, we’d see better people, actors in the world, and interested investigators than we currently have graduating high school.

Discussion 6 Part 1 And 2 World history

Discussion 6 Part 1 And 2 World history

Globalization and the Flattening of the World

Globalization. Do you look at this concept as a positive (glass half-full) or negative (glass half-empty)? Discussion 6 Part 1 And 2 World history

The fall of Communism and the rise of global threats and globalization leveled the playing field for nations throughout the world. Nations began to expand their economic strategies, political theories, and collaborate to create new foreign policies. This new era of globalization hastened the progress of developing countries, but also provided resources for terrorist activities. Former tensions between rivals with varying religious and ethnic practices reared its ugly head leading to an increase in terrorism. This, in turn, lead nations and global governing bodies such as NATO, to react. Discussion 6 Part 1 And 2 World history

https://geniusproessays.com/

Last week you had the opportunity to reflect upon the information you have acquired during this course when you completed your Final Project. This week, you will be able to expand upon that reflection and review your fellow classmates’ Final Projects. You will also examine the events from 1945–2000 and assess the effects and consequences of globalization. You will have the opportunity to analyze their opinions and consider how they compare and contrast to your own beliefs. Will their thoughts affect your viewpoints in the future?

Discussion 6 Part 1 And 2 World history

Learning Objectives

By the end of this week, you should be able to:
  • Justify the choice of the most important element from your Top 3 list
  • Draw inferences from assessments, both positive and negative, of globalization and the effects on local and global levels
  • Evaluate the roles and responsibilities of today’s world citizen
  • Identify political leaders, policies, and elements during the time of 1945–2000 that led to globalization and the flattening of the world

Discussion 6 Part 1 And 2 World history

Discussion 1: Twentieth Century Top Element

It is through the differences of opinions that societies have forged ahead, fought wars, and formed outside alliances throughout all of history. These differences have questioned theories, policies, and actions and have made changes occur.

In last week’s Final Project, you were asked to form and share your opinions regarding the elements of the 20th century and how they are shaping the 21st century. In this Discussion, you will continue that thought process as you rank the elements from your 20th-century Top 3 list (Final Project) that you consider to be the most important element in the list in shaping 21st century. The exercise will ask you to justify your position. You will also have the opportunity to discover and discuss your classmates’ opinions.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review your Final Project assignment.
  • Review the differences of opinion about your assignment and your classmates’ assignments.
  • Reflect on the considerations you took into account when you formulated your Top 3 elements for your Final Project assignment.
  • Consider what your thought process was for selecting your Top 3 elements. Was it difficult to narrow it down to just three? If so, why? How did you make your final decision?

With these thoughts in mind:

By Day 3

  • Post the one most important element from your Final Project 20th-century Top 3 list.
    • Justify why you believe this is the most important element from your Top 3 list in shaping the 21st century.
    • Support your assertions by making at least 2 references, in proper APA format, to the course readings.
  • Be sure to support your ideas by properly citing at least one of week’s Learning Resources, in APA format, within your initial post.
  • Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.

By Day 5

Respond to at least one of your colleagues’ postings in one or more of the following ways:

  • Ask a probing question.
  • Share an insight from having read your colleague’s posting.
  • Offer and support an opinion.
  • Validate an idea with your own experience.
  • Make a suggestion.
  • Expand on your colleague’s posting.

Return to this Discussion in a few days to read the responses to your initial posting. Note what you have learned and/or any insights you have gained as a result of the comments your colleagues made.

Discussion 2: The Effects of Globalization

Globalization increased as nations began to work together more closely. Nations began to change how they thought, the policies they formed, and the actions they took. Nations also began to reform their borders as well as rebuild economically. For some nations this proved to be a difficult time since adapting and rebuilding led to a lack of stability.

Not all nations were as ready to embrace changes with regards to foreign religious beliefs, or social and political ideologies. As a result, tension between old and new rivals surfaced, which led to an increase in terrorism and other military threats. However, other nations thrived as they capitalized on the new opportunities provided through globalization.

In this Discussion you will explore the positive and negative effects of globalization.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review this week’s reading materials in the Learning Resources.
  • Consider how you would explain how globalization affects the following: family, friends, community, and the world in general.
  • Based on this week’s reading, reflect on both the positive and negative thoughts that nations as a whole have about globalization.

With these thoughts in mind:

By Day 3

Post inferences (2–3 paragraphs) drawn from assessments, both positive and negative, of globalization and the effects on local and global levels.

Be sure to support your ideas by connecting them to the week’s Learning Resources, or something you have read, heard, seen, or experienced.

Read a selection of your colleagues’ postings.

Business Law Final Project

Business Law Final Project

Submit to Assignment Folder.

Purpose: The purpose of this project is to reflect on, analyze and apply tort law, product liability law, agency and contract law, and their potential risks and liabilities in a business. The project requires you to identify and analyze legal issues and to make recommendations.

https://geniusproessays.com/

You will also develop skills in critical thinking to create an in-depth comprehensive analysis.

The project relates to the concepts covered in weeks 1-7.  You should refer to assigned materials in earlier weeks of the course, including Instructor Notes.

Business Law Final Project

This project relates to the following course outcomes:

  • recommend appropriate actions in the business environment based on an understanding of sources of law, substantive legal concepts, legal process and procedure, and available remedies
  • analyze contractual rights, obligations, liabilities, and remedies in the business environment
  • analyze tort rights, obligations, liabilities, and remedies in the business environment

Background:  The Clean-N-Shine (“Clean”) owners are meeting with TLG in final consultations before Clean opens business operations.  The purpose of these final meetings is to identify the:

  • areas of business law presenting the greatest potential risk and liabilities for Clean; and
  • areas of business operations vulnerable to potential risks and liabilities for which Clean should seek legal counsel.

Winnie and Ralph have asked you to provide a report that presents your reflections and recommendations based on your research and analysis during the past seven weeks of TLG’s consultation with the Clean owners.

Business Law Final Project

Instructions

The report will have two (2) parts.  Each part is entirely separate from the other part.

Part I.  Risks and Liabilities

Analyze and discuss two (2) areas of business law that present the greatest potential risks and liabilities for the Clean business, from among these areas only:

  • Negligence related to any business operations
  • Negligence related specifically to premises liability
  • Strict product liability related to the use of EPI products for Clean services for clients
  • Strict product liability related specifically to Clean’s purchasing EPI products and reselling those EPI products to clients, consumers
  • Contracts with employees
  • Contracts for the sale of goods with cleaning clients
  • Agency law and contracts with any Clean agents

For EACH of the two (2) areas of the law selected from the above list, do the following:    LABEL ALL PARTS: Business Law Final Project

(1).  Provide a background explanation of the area of law, e.g., negligence, contracts for the sale of goods, etc. (be detailed and specific so any reader can understand the meaning of the specific area of law).  For example, if you choose Negligence as one area of law, explain its meaning, discuss elements of negligence, etc.  Needs to be at least 2-3 + paragraphs in length to adequately discuss in depth FOR EACH AREA OF LAW SELECTED from list above.

a.  discussion of first area of law selected

b.  discussion of second area of law selected

(2).  Analyze and explain the specific potential risks and liabilities presented by the first area of law selected in (1) above.  Discuss in detail why and how the first selected area of law creates risk of liability for Clean.  Needs to be a minimum of 2-3+ paragraphs to be sufficiently in depth and comprehensive.

(3).  Analyze and explain the specific potential risks and liabilities presented by the second area of law selected in (1) Above.  Discuss in detail why and how the second selected area of law creates risk of liability for Clean.  Needs to be a minimum of 2-3+ paragraphs to be sufficiently in depth and comprehensive.

(4).  Provide a specific example/scenario situation illustrating why and how the potential risks and liabilities could arise for Clean for the first area of law selected and discussed in (2) above.  Needs to be a minimum of 2-3+ paragraphs to be sufficiently in depth and comprehensive.

(5).  Provide a specific example/scenario situation illustrating why and how the potential risks and liabilities could arise for Clean for the second area of law selected and discussed in (3) above.  Needs to be a minimum of 2-3+ paragraphs to be sufficiently in depth and comprehensive.

Citations required: Remember to use in-text citations in the narrative for all reference works and full citations on a separate References page.

DO NOT USE DIRECT QUOTATIONS – summarize or paraphrase all information from resources; direct quotes, even if put in quotation marks, will result in point deduction on the APA usage section of the rubric

Label all parts, 1 a., 1b., 2,3,4,5.

Part II.  Legal Counsel

This section of the project is entirely different from Part I.   The analysis in Part II does not need to mirror the discussion of specific areas of law in Part I.  Discuss as many reasons and areas of law and business that are important for Clean to have advice of legal counsel.

During the past eight weeks, we have discussed and emphasized the importance of the Clean owners seeking business advice from TLG and the importance of Clean –  and every business –  seeking legal counsel from an attorney for various aspects of business operations.

In Part II, you are to reflect on your experience in consulting with the Clean owners, your research and analysis, and make the following recommendations.   Minimum of 3 + paragraphs in length.

A.  Evaluate and explain why you recommend that the Clean owners seek legal counsel with an attorney for any  – or all – aspects of its business operations, i.e., contract writing, procedures to protect against negligence risks, recruitment policies, etc.

  • Explain and support the rationale for your recommendation specifically, in detail and comprehensively, using examples, personal experience(s), citations to resources, etc. You may use substantive resources from the internet for this discussion, but do not use law firm websites
  • Consider specific areas of business operations for which it is particularly important to seek legal counsel and include those in your discussion

Note:  There is no single correct answer; the detailed, specific rationale and support for your recommendation is most important.

Some of the discussion in Part II is your personal opinion and may not be cited.  However, support and bolster your opinion with citations to resources as much as possible and certainly you must include a citation each time you do use information from a specific resource (i.e., from assigned course materials) to support your conclusions.

DO NOT USE DIRECT QUOTATIONS – summarize or paraphrase all information from resources; direct quotes, even if put in quotation marks, will result in point deduction on the APA usage section of the rubric

Acceptable sources include journal articles, manuscripts, scholarly textbooks, and/or internet sites from .edu or .gov sources. Avoid internet sites from .com, .net, .org, etc. as the information contained therein is not often peer reviewed. There are exceptions to this rule (e.g., the Institute for Creation Research site is a .org site, but it has been judged a reputable site by those in the young-earth community. Answers in Genesis is also acceptable.). In particular, avoid Wikipedia. Study Bibles are also not appropriate for this assignment.
